$aThere was successful synthesization of CePO4:Tb3+ hollow spheres by wet chemical method and using citric acid as a structure-directing agent. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that all samples were crystallinity which distributed to the monoclinic phase of CePO4 host (JCPDS, No. 32-0199) and Tb3+ ions were doped into CePO4 host lattice. According to the results of Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), the morphology of CePO4:Tb3+ comprised well defined echinus-like CePO4:Tb3+ hollow spheres with diameters in the range of 520 nm, rode length at ~ 110 nm and the hollow diameter at ~ 60nm. CePO4:Tb3+ was determined by photoluminescence at excitation of 278 nm, showed the high intensity of green emission at 543 nm wavelength which was correspond to 5D4-7F5 transition of Tb3+.
